Talented artist, determined athlete, unwavering friend to all. Natalie came into our lives a fighter in 2004, and every life she touched was better for it. She loved art and had an amazing creativity. Whether painting, sculpting, drawing, sewing or just working a la carte, Natalie could turn other people’s trash into her own genius. She loved competing on the soccer field, softball diamond, and the playground. She was never the biggest or the strongest but no one worked harder. However, Natalie’s best quality was the way she treated others. Natalie was a great friend to everyone, and her kind soul made sure no one was ever left out or made to feel less than her.
In August of 2012, while being checked for some balance and eye control issues, Natalie was diagnosed with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), an extremely rare tumor in her brain stem that is inoperable and very difficult to treat because of its sensitive location. Over the next 8 and a ½ months Natalie showed a courage and bravery most of us will never know through numerous MRI’s, CT scans, PET scans, radiation treatments, blood draws, and more. In doing so, she inspired the thousands of people that joined her team to face any challenge that comes their way head on and with a CAN DO attitude. On May 8, 2013 Natalie earned her angel wings and continues every day to be an inspiration from heaven.
